I take some blame into this for not inquiring sooner about the process. I think it's fair. But I also think it's fair to ask the question of why would you let a customer's ashes sit for more than two weeks without notification? When I called on the 29th I spoke with Carlene and she informed me that the ashes "just arrived".

"Great Customer Service and very professional"

Well according to the process of cremation and having the death certificate done by the clerk there should be no reason it should go beyond 3 days and that's pushing it. On average the process should be around 5-6 hours to have everything done.

they worked really well with me my son had surgery and they worked around my schedule when my dad passed. very professional and caring. show room is very nice as well and very affordable.

The reason I've given two stars instead of one is at least Kourtney Teat tried to do right by doing quick shipping of the ashes. I expected bettter and I have been very let down.

"The mortician did an outstanding job making my deceased loved one look awesome and life like!"

I had a grandmother who had passed away from congestive heart failure a month ago. When I completed the paperwork the staff member Carlene was professional and I was very impressed. However what happened after my grandmother had died was tragic and disrespectful and I was very angry about how the funeral home carried out the process.

Please respect your customers better and don't take advantage of them.

Teat Chapel Funeral Home staff provided my family with excellent care and professional service. I would recommend them to all that has to prepare their family member for their last good-bye.

After my grandmother passed away I was promptly called for payment. Once her funds were liquidated from the nursing home where she resided I proceeded to pay the rest on June 13. On the sticker it said June 12th. How did I find out that the cremation was done on June 12th? Well I did not receive my grandmother's ashes until June 30th. More than two weeks.

Thank you and have a blessed day.

Mr. Kourtney Teat, Director of Teat Chapel Funeral Home and Cremation Service, in Fairview Heights IL. Gave us a sense that “everything would be alright” Mr. Teat may not be well known in the Mt.Vernon area, but he drove from Fairview Heights to Mt. Vernon to meet our families needs when my father passed. He also, sorted through the difficult task of insurance red tape leaving us with one less thing to do. If you are looking for the latest modern ways to communicate your families needs in your time of sorrow, this provider offers outstanding service and communication, at the lowest price. He anticipated every need and gave our family a comfort that was greatly needed when our world was turned upside down. Mr. Teat and his staff, showed my family compassion, kindness and professionalism in our time of sorrow and for that I am truly grateful.

-Jeremy

I made it absolutely clear in the beginning that I wanted my grandmother's ashes to be shipped to my location since I would be arriving out of state. I even inquired if the cost of shipping was built into the fee of the cremation.

So to be told that it "just arrived" was the equivalence of being spit in your face.
